The rescue is a legit 501c3 organization who obtains a current pacfa license. Iresq does not have a location and all dogs stay in foster homes which are screened and educated on specific care for each pets individual needs.

Iresq holds their adoption events at numerous locations. Often they are in a park this is great for the dogs because it's a very low stress and natural environment, they get to be out in nature and spread apart. They get numerous walks throughout the event etc. They also hold events in stores when it's colder.

Often these are petsmarts but they've also had owners offer up their empty stores before opening their business or while waiting for product to come in. Iresq gets their dogs from transport organizations out of state. These organizations take dogs from high kill shelters, holds them until they are healthy enough to make the travel and then transports them to the rescue. 30 other rescues and 7 shelters work with the same transport company that iresq does - this is how most rescues get their dogs.

These dogs are being saved directly from the kill list and Colorado is their very last resort before being euthanized. Iresq does not purchase these dogs but pays the transport organizations for medical treatment and cost of transport. When I left the rescue these fees were $150 per kennel and all rescues were charged this same rate. The dogs that iresq receives each week are dogs in need of rescue so yes they do arrive in considerably poor conditions.

If they didn't, they don't need rescued and could've been adopted right from the original shelter. Iresq provides vet care for everything as simple as dewormer on all dogs to pricey heartworm treatment, leg amputations, surgeries, topical treatments etc. They are also one of the few rescues who treats sick puppies. They fight for them like no other rescue and have wonderful success rates even for distemper and parvo- diseases your bound to encounter with any type of rescue work.

Many do come with mange, flees, kennel cough, and heeling injuries but I assure you that all are treated per a vets instructions in a foster home that is prepped towards dealing with these issues. If you follow the rescues protocol animals are treated perfectly and per their direction your pets won't get anything from the fosters as they let you know which pets can interact safely with yours. Iresq feeds extremely high quality feed to all of their rescues & treats them all as naturally & holistically as possible. They work with numerous separate vets & dogs do receive quality medical care.

Adopted dogs are current up to date on shots, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, spayed/neutered and adopters get sent home with 30 days of free pet insurance and $50 training rebate. The rescue spays and neuters their pups as soon as they are cleared by the vet. Their vets do the spays at 8-9 weeks if healthy enough. This means a small incision and short surgery and puppies pop up not knowing anything has happened to them.

Much easier than waiting like most rescues and much less risk attached. Communication could be better but I insist that if your nice to them they are nice to you. This is a volunteer based organization, smart people will understand this and take the rescue for the good they do in animal care rather than picking at the little things. The dogs ages and breeds come from the vets recommendation and the records which the rescue receives from the shelter.

Sense these are true rescue dogs the rescue can not ensure any breeds because they don't know what mom and dad was, but they try to make the most accurate guess as all other rescues do the same. Iresq charges fees solely to cover the costs obtained for each dog. Puppies cost $400 and typically the rescue pays even more then this with all that they cover. If you were to buy a free dog and get all of what iresq covers it would be up to the 1000s because iresq receives discounts from their rescue vets.

Adults are $250 yet covers the same list of things within the adoption, iresq looses money on all adults. Most records are given at the time of adoption some are emailed within the week of adoption. Iresq has no employees they are all volunteer based. I know all of this info because I was a volunteer for them but I've had to leave due to my family and I moving.

Sense living in our new location for 3 months already I've not found a rescue so profound as iresq.

I was treated with respect and always knew I was appreciated at iresq. Iresq is one of the good ones so please give them a chance.
