I have tried by email and text multiple times to get reimbursed for just over $400 in puppy formula and potty pads that I spent while fostering a Geman Shepherd and her 9 puppies that were birthed at my home. I adore dogs which is why I have fostered for them in the past, but I will not foster for Iresq ever again.

In addition to spending a lot of money that I personally didn't have to spend (I put items on credit cards), we helped care for a beautiful litter of puppies for over 6 weeks. I was told to purchase the items needed to care for them and would then be reimbursed. It has been 2 months since the puppies were at my home and I submitted the receipts. I have also since asked in text messages and in 3 emails when I would be reimbursed.

I only received one response (after several attempts at correspondence and also threatening small claims court and disclosing their bad business practices). The response did not tell me when or even if I would get payment. I am finally filing a complaint in small claims court for non-payment, which is unbelievable to me. I would recommend people not support them by not buying their adoptable pets or (even more so) by not fostering for them.

Fostering can be very challenging to begin with and not getting paid for the expenses incurred while you are opening your home to stray animals is both sad and disheartening. For an organization that claims to care for animals, it seems more like they really just care for the profit they get when they charge $650 per dog (what they charged for those puppies).

Iresq Rescue And Rehabilitation Cons: Those that run this organization misrepresent their animal care, I was not reimbursed fee incurred while i fostered dogs for them.

Foster contract for this rescue has a very clear question on the application that says "Are you prepared to take your foster home at this time? (already have or WILL BUY TODAY: food, crate, leash, bowls etc.?)".

Seems like if you said yes to this as a foster, you are agreeing to take on the cost without the expectation of reimbursement from the rescue, and the very next question notes if you do not have these items they are happy to provide upon request. So what is the real picture here?!

Did you as a foster take them the purchases you agreed to take on and then ask to be reimbursed for something you bought that they could have provided or did they tell you to buy and they would reimburse after and failed to do that. I am curious now after reading their foster contract online.

The rescue claims that they cover all food expenses/ provide food. You should have been reimbursed for that at the very least.

I have had a similar experience fostering for them. They are just using fosters to make money off of puppies they buy cheap out of state.

AND... The foster contract you sign doesnโ€™t allow for reimbursement.

Iโ€™m sure you got their discount.

Shame on you!!! You give fosters a bad name.

Wow! I'd love to be reimbursed for expenses in rescue all the time but that isn't reality.

Why are you spending money on potty pads? They are SO expensive and newspapers are free to collect and better for the environment. I've fostered for this rescue for 2 years. I LOVE them.

They are a stellar organization.

I never, ever expect to be reimbursed unless there is a tremendous amount of vet care needed. I'm doing my part and they are doing theirs.

I also saw they received an F from the BBB

They are not rated by the BBB... they have an F on the page because they are not rated at all.
