I've worked with many rescues in the past and just recently have started volunteering for iresq. Looking over the complaints on here I'm seriously shocked!

People review this volunteer based organization as a company and as if they are selling them an item. Rescue work is tricky, it involves high emotions and many different types of people with many different opinions. It sounds like iresq needs improvement on costumer service, yes. All this means is get involved!!

Vollunteer, foster or just stop in at adoption events to see first hand the wonderful work they do. Instead of letting these comments instill your own opinions of this rescue go try and help. You can be the change that iresq needs in service rather than sitting back and complaining. I do know however that iresq cares and that some of these negative posts are just fraudulent.

Iresq is perfect when it matters which is animal care. They care about their adopters because after all they are the ones providing love to the animals iresq has become so dedicated to. Iresq is one of the few rescues who does their best to educate their adopters in common care practices most people would never think of. They follow up on medical needs of adopted dogs - this type of experience is almost unheard of in rescue work.

Typically once you adopt your on your own. Iresq continues treatment of all their heartworm positive dogs, follows up on deworming and suggests precautionary treatments for different situations all after the adoption. Most rescues don't deal with this type of support because they don't even take dogs that actually need rescuing and that truly depend on the rescue as their last option before being euthanized. These are just a few examples of how this rescue cares about their animals, sometimes even too much.

I think that a good amount of these people who are upset are ones who are simply incapable of meeting the needs that the rescue holds them accountable to because of this both the adopters and the rescue are dissatisfied with each other. It's a tricky situation but does not deserve the brutal posts.

Think before you adopt. It's a big commitment, and once your ready I hope you go to iresq to truly rescue a pet.
